Catholic icons convey the Truth of the Sacred, and they point us to Jesus. They transmit theology and faith through a window into the divine, and the experience of beauty is meant to honor God and draw our senses into deeper communion with him.
“God saw all that he had made, and it was very good” (Gn1:31)
What makes an Heirloom icon?
Icons are more than just a style of sacred artwork, they are a theological and artistic expression of the Truth, Beauty, and Goodness of God - meant to draw you deeper into your faith.
They are made from the finest materials befitting of the Sacredness portrayed, and are meant to last - to be passed down through the generations - just like our faith.
The iconographer has the honor of participating in the sacred tradition of expressing the faith through art, and serving as a bearer of tradition for the art of Iconography.
